I... honestly don't know what to say about this. Bob Dylan is dancing. Bob Dylan is dancing. And wearing a Father Christmas-cap. I don't know if it's awesome or just wtf. I think it's awesome. This is the first I've heard from Christams In The Heart, since I decided not to start listening to it until December and I don't know what I think about that either. I'll have to listen to it a couple of more times. The line "who laughs this way: ho ho ho?" is gold however. Especially when you remember that the man who wrote that line is the same man that wrote songs like Desolation Row, Mr Tamburine Man and Sad Eyes Lady of the Lowlands.
It's amusing how bad Bob is at lip syncing. The biggest question of them all is of course What's the deal with the Eric Northman-hair?
On another note: I has Spotify:)

Vacation at last! It is going to be so nice to get away from all the intrigues and badmouthing there. At times I almost felt as if I was back in compulsory school. This is how I've been entertaining myself:

Amazing what you can do with old plastic bags, discarded labels and pieces of whatever-the-thing-you-use-to-close-bags-i s-called-in-english, isn't it?^^
I finished Guilliver's Travles, it was actually very good to be one of the classics, and after that I was supposed to read Good Omens, but M didn't have it, so I thought I'd ask Light if I could borrow it (can I?), but then I realised it's ages before we'll meet and I needed something else to read. But Good Omens was next on my list and when I couldn't get ii I got so confused I completely forgot what was next on my list, so I just picked a book at random from mum's and dad's shelf. Interesting story, right?
I want Awesomeness, but I won't be home until 10/11 of August:(

I bought a new From Eroica With Love yesterday^^ I guess you'll have to fight over it when we meet next:P Just remember that usage of the Major's rear for other than its intended purpose is strictly verboten.
I realised it was more than a year since I bought a Bob Dylan album. I mean, I've bought the new releases, but there are still some of his older ones which I don't have and I haven't been working on that collection for ages. So I went out and bought New Morning. And got rather disappointed. Not even Dylan can get away with a chorus like 'Winterlude, this dude thinks you're fine'.
Also: It seems we're not the only ones who are onto the Morgoth's Evil Facebook Conspiracy-theory. I guess Morgoth founded Facebook and the Devil founded MySpace.

The one who invented Microsoft Office Word 2007 should get something blunt and rusty shoved up an appropriate body opening. I have been using that accursed program for almost a year, thinking I'd get used to it, but I am yet to find one single way in which it is not worse than the previous version. If I want to make one sentence bold, it turns the entire text bold and I have to press 'regret' to make only the part I wanted bold. Why not make only that part bold from the beginning?! And the same goes for centering the text or making those dotted litst, but not, strangely enough, for italics. Is it too much of me to ask that it should at least be consistent? And sometimes it just decides that all the headlines I've made bold should, in fact, not be bold and changes it without asking me. It is also completely unable to understand that I always write British English, not American English, always Times New Roman 12, not Calibri 11, no matter how many times I change the standard settings. It drives me crazy and it kills my inspiration.
And of course we all know who's behind this.
Now I'm going to make brownies.

Happy 10th Birthday LJ!

I started listenting more carefully to Tell Tale Signs, the latest installation in Bob Dylan's Bootleg Series, and fell in love with 'Cross the Green Mountains. Check this out:
Besides him looking outrageously cool, the song is fantastic. (Only the first three verses are in this video, it has eight more). Just look at the first verse:
I cross the Green Mountain
I sit by the stream
Heaven blazing in my head I
I dreamt a monsterous dream
Something came up
Out of the sea
Swept through the land of
The rich and the free
It's everything I love about 21st century-Dylan; it's epic, grand and slightly scary, with images you can't help but see and smell and feel. His old, rough voice just emphasises this and the music is just as sparse and elaborate as it needs to be.
I really want to see Gods and Generals now, too. As I understand it, Bob is not in the movie, the above is just a music video, but he wrote the song for it.
It's the last day's last hour
of the last happy year
I feel that the unknown
World is so dear
Pride will vanish
And glory will rot
But virtue lives
and cannot be forgot

Speaking of nothing I baked about 40 chocolate chip cockies today.^^

I've been sitting in front of the computer the whole day today. That's just terrible. I have been studying a great deal, though, and almost finsihed what I'm certain will be the most boring PowerPoint presentation ever made.
I've also cleaned out among my icons, following the idea of just having one per fandom (I'll still have two Naruto, though, because I think I need one Akatsuki and one KakaIru). I've been looking for LotR and HP ones today, but it's so difficult to chose one from the many beautiful LotR and I wonder if it'll be possible to find a decent non-movies HP:S
I'll just upload the ones I'm choosing from here so I can see what they look like on LJ. (Yes, this is a very important issue.)

Argh, they're all so pretty! The black frame around the first Galadriel bothers me, though. Maybe I'll go for the fellowship. But I'm not sure. Blah.
If I ever manage to choose one I'll only need:
- HP
- KakaIru
- A better Neil
- Miyazaki
- Simpsons
- Scrubs
and maybe Pokemon and Temeraire.
This is so not interesting to anyone. I'm going to go and do something else now.
